Our January meeting was presented by Jack May (ERA #2275), noted photographer and ERA convention chairman. The show was titled “Light Rail in English Speaking Countries.” Electric railway activities, including suburban commuter trains and rapid transit, were featured in this tour of New Zealand, Australia, Britain and Ireland. Among the many cities visited were Melbourne, London, Birmingham, Sheffield, Manchester, Christchurch, Sydney, Bendigo and Wellington. The newest light rail systems in the world (Dublin and Nottingham) were also shown.
