This July’s meeting will be presented by Paul Gawkowski, director of the N.Y. Division. Paul’s presentation will feature slides of the world-class tramway systems in Budapest, Hungary; Prague, Czech Republic; and Vienna, Austria. He will also show slides from side trips he made to the smaller systems in Brno (Czech Republic) and Debrecen (Hungary). Paul will then show slides of three of the United States’ busiest and most successful tourist railroads: the Maine Eastern Railroad, along the coast of Maine, the Conway Scenic Railroad though Crawford Notch in New Hampshire, and the Grand Canyon Railway to the Grand Canyon. He will conclude his presentation with slides of NJ Transit’s Meadows Maintenance Complex (MMC) from the Division’s very successful June 24 excursion.
