Our June meeting will be presented by Paul Gawkowski. Paul’s show will visit numerous transit operations spanning three continents.
Europe — We will take a look at three of France’s premier tramways, Bordeaux, Montpelier and Marseilles; then the Sheffield Supertram and the Crich Tramway Museum in Great Britain; and then the trams and railways in Spain’s Palma Majorca. Back on the Continent, we will take a look at light rail in Genoa, the scenic coastal railway in Italy’s Cinque Terre villages, the Cologne-Bonn interurban, and trams in Amsterdam.
Asia — We will ride an overnight train from Hanoi and a take a look at the railways in Cambodia and Thailand as well as rapid transit in Bangkok.
North America — We will ride the dome car on Amtrak’s Adirondack to Montreal, in what may be the final year of the dome’s operation. Then on to Quebec on Via Rail. We will also ride the DC Streetcar in Washington.
Please join us for a wonderful presentation!
