Scranton Day Trip to Electric City Trolley and Steamtown

The N.Y. Division of the ERA is pleased to announce a one-day excursion to Scranton, Pa., on Saturday, July 26, 2008. Our itinerary will include time at both the Electric City Trolley Museum and the Steamtown National Historic Site. Lunch will be on your own at your own cost and expense, but we suggest that you might want to eat at the food court at the Mall at Steamtown, which is adjacent to both properties and accessible via pedestrian bridge. There will be no dinner stop.

We are hoping to arrive in Scranton in time for our group to board the first departing trolley of the day at the Electric City Trolley Museum at 10:30 AM Following this ride, you will have time to visit the Museum. Our afternoon at the Steamtown National Historic Site will begin with an Excursion Steam Train trip to Moscow, Pa., departing the site at 1:00 PM. It is expected that we will return by approximately 3:00 PM, which will give you about two hours to explore Steamtown. Your ticket price includes the charter bus (Coach Tours), admission to both the Electric City Trolley Museum and the Steamtown National Historic Site, the trolley ride at the Electric City Trolley Museum and the steam train excursion at the Steamtown National Historic Site. The bus seats available are limited, so we advise you to book this trip as early as you can.

Our Coach Tours bus will leave promptly at 8:00 am from the public city bus stop for the M16 on 8th Avenue, just north of West 40th Street, across the street from the Port Authority Bus Terminal (Stop #1). There will be an additional pickup point in the Weehawken/Lincoln Harbor area in New Jersey, just south of the Lincoln Tunnel, at 19th Street and Willow Avenue, in front of the gas station (Stop #2). The pickup at this Stop #2 will be at 8:10 AM (Street parking is available one block west, on Hackensack Plank Road.) Please indicate below at which stop you will be boarding the bus. It is expected that the bus will return home at approximately 7:30 PM.
