MBS invites our fellow ERA members to join our Spring 2024 Motor Bus Society Convention in Toronto. The convention will be held from Thursday, April 18th to Sunday, April 21st in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
The host hotel for the convention will be the Delta Hotels Toronto Airport & Conference Centre. Located at 655 Dixon Road in Toronto. The hotel is close to the Toronto Pearson International Airport (serviced by GO Transit and TTC). The hotel has free high-speed Wi-Fi internet access and a business center.
The special MBS room rate is $199 (Canadian $, plus taxes, currently 19%) per night for with either one or two Deluxe Queen beds. A block of rooms has been put aside for MBS members from Wednesday, April 17th to Sunday, April 21st. The hotel does offer a free shuttle service to/from Toronto Pearson International Airport.
TThe hotel offers the Orchid Café for breakfast dining and Lot41 Social Bar & Table for lunch and dinner dining. There is also a Starbucks franchise in the hotel. Many other restaurants are within a short walk. Parking is $25 (plus taxes) per day.
Please note that hotel reservations must be made by Wednesday, March 27th, 2024. The hotel room space and rate cannot be guaranteed after that date.
The MBS convention registration fee is $70 per person per day or $250 for all four days for MBS members. For non-MBS members, the registration fee is $85 per day or $300 for all four days. To assure that space will be available for the garage and facility tours, advance registration is strongly recommended. In case of any shortage of seat space on the tour buses, persons with reservations will be given priority. Please note that paying by PayPal is not available at the present time Please refer to the convention registration page (#4) for more details. The deadline for MBS convention registration is Sunday, March 31st.
Transportation Information:
For automobiles, the hotel is on Dixon Road off Highway 27, just north of Highway 401. Highway 427 North also exits to Dixon Road with a short easterly drive to get to the hotel.
From Union Station and the Union Station Intercity Bus Terminal (downtown Toronto), Metrolinx UP Express provides a quick ride to Terminal 1 at the airport.
Toronto Pearson International Airport is well serviced by transit. The Delta Hotels Toronto Airport can be accessed from Pearson via TTC route 52-Lawrence West. The express route 952-Lawrence stops within a short walk at Skyway Avenue.
Convention Activities: Registration and sign-in will take place in the Delta Hotels Toronto Airport lobby starting at 7:30 AM on all four days, with buses departing promptly at 8:00 AM each day.
Garage and Facility Tours: The itinerary has not been finalized and is highly dependent on whether properties are receptive to having visitors. Possible site visits are shown below. The final lists of stops will be posted on the MBS website and MBS Facebook page one week prior to the convention.
The MBS Meeting will be held on Saturday evening at the host hotel in the New York room.
