Division secretary Jeff Erlitz (ERA #3997) will present our May show, about the ERA’s 2003 European trip to the Czech and Slovak Republics. The group visited the tramway systems of Prague, Brno, Liberec and Ostrava, and rode a Czech Railway (CD-Ceské Dráhy) branch line between Tábor and Bechyne. This line, which was the first electrified line in the country, was celebrating its 100th anniversary that year.
Before traveling to Prague, Mr. Erlitz also visited Berlin, Germany, and will make a brief presentation of his trip there. Plus, if time allows, Mr. Erlitz will show some “behind the scenes” of recent activities on the NYC subway. This is a night not to be missed.
